Urban Maintenance and Beautification as a Social Enterprise

In 2006, Clean City launched Clean City Services, a social enterprise that promotes cleaning and greening San Francisco, creates employment opportunities for low-income individuals, and generates revenue for the agency.

Sidewalk Cleaning Operations
Sidewalk cleaning services offered by Clean City Services include sidewalk and gutter hand sweeping, steam cleaning, and power washing. These services are offered to Community Benefit Districts (CBD), property owners, merchants, and city agencies.

 

Graffiti Abatement
Clean City Services offers graffiti abatement services that include removal, paint matching, and power washing. One-time, monthly or yearly contracts are available for graffiti abatement on private property.

 

Clean City Recyclers
Clean City promotes waste diversion at special events throughout San Francisco by providing event recycling, composting and cleanup services. Clean City also provides training and equipment rental services. Clean City Recyclers have worked at events such as Union Street Fair, Fillmore Jazz Festival, Haight Street Fair, and Fiesta on the Hill.
