Gigantic 3
Compost, recycle, and throw away your bulky items with Gigantic 3!
![]()
The Gigantic 3 provides large scale recycling, composting, bulky item and hazardous waste collection for San Francisco residents.
The program visits a different San Francisco supervisorial district each month, allowing residents of that district to schedule a free drop-off.
Clean City coordinates the Gigantic 3 with Norcal Waste Systems, the Department of Public Works, the Department of the Environment and Goodwill Industries.
Gigantic 3 events are free and run from 8 am to noon. Crews are on-site to help at all events.
- Drop off any large items (such as mattresses, yard waste, furniture, appliances, electronics, etc.).
- Residents only — no businesses.
- Please be prepared to show proof of San Francisco residence.
Special Wastes
The following Special Wastes items can be dropped off at the Gigantic3 site:
- Used motor oil and oil filters (Please place used filters in a plastic bag. Do not mix motor oil with anything!)
- All household batteries (non-automotive)
- Fluorescent bulbs and tubes (Broken tubes will not be accepted)
